Sefro is a small municipality in the Marche region of central Italy, in the Province of Macerata. It lies about 70 kilometers southwest of Ancona and around 45 kilometers southwest of Macerata. The town covers 42.5 square kilometers and has roughly 450 residents. It borders Camerino, Fiuminata, Pioraco and Serravalle di Chienti, and includes the hamlets of Agolla, Sorti, Cerreto, Butino and Valle. The mayor is Pietro Tapanelli (Noi per Sefro). The patron saint is Madonna dell'Assunta, celebrated on August 15. In the local dialect, Sefro is called Sifru. The postal code is 62030 and the telephone area code is 0737.
