Echo (Girls Can't Catch song)
Echo is the second and final single by British girl group Girls Can't Catch. It was released on 14 January 2010, with "Love Shy" as the B-side. The track, recorded in 2009 at EMI Publishing Studios, is a pop/electropop song lasting 3:25, released on Polydor/Fascination. It was written by Alan Kasirye and Viktoria Hansen and produced by Alan Nglish.
The music video was filmed the week of 9 November 2009. Fans could submit ideas for the video, and one winner visited the set and received a makeover. The video premiered on 3 December 2009 and features the group performing atop the White Cliffs of Dover, with their voices echoed over the water to reflect the song’s theme. Echo was released digitally on 17 January 2010 and physically on 18 January 2010.
The song entered the UK Singles Chart at #19 on 24 January 2010, then fell to #32 on 31 January and to #49 in its third week, spending only two weeks in the UK Top 40. In Scotland, it reached #15.
