The warrior catfish (Aceroichthys dioctes) is a catfish in the family Ariidae. It lives in both saltwater and freshwater around New Guinea and Australia. It can grow up to 120 cm long and weigh as much as 19 kg.

Taxonomy: The species was first described in 2000 by Patricia J. Kailola as Arius dioctes. In 2023, the genus Aceroichthys was created by Marceniuk, Oliveira & Ferraris, so the species is now placed in the monospecific genus Aceroichthys, making Aceroichthys dioctes the only member of its genus. The species name dioctes comes from Ancient Greek and reflects its hunting abilities. The genus name honors Arturo Acero Pizarro, a Colombian ichthyologist.
