Doveridge
Doveridge is a village and civil parish in Derbyshire, England. It sits near the Staffordshire border, about 2 km east of Uttoxeter. The name likely comes from a bridge over the River Dove.

History and landmarks
- Mentioned in the Domesday Book as Dubbige, owned by Henry de Ferrers and worth 100 shillings
- Legend says Robin Hood and Maid Marian were married under an old yew tree in St Cuthbert’s Church, which is over 900 years old and has historic bells
- Doveridge Hall (neoclassical, completed in 1769) was the seat of Sir Henry Cavendish, later demolished in 1938. The Cavendish family later held the title Baron Waterpark
Roads and bypass
- The A50 used to run through the village
- A 1960s plan to widen the road led to the demolition of Cavendish Lodge, but a bypass was built in 1998 to the north of the village
