Edward Johnson Bellerby
Edward Johnson Bellerby LRAM (28 March 1858 – 2 April 1940) was an English organist, composer and teacher. He was born in Pickering, Yorkshire. From 1876 to 1880 he studied organ with Edwin George Monk at York Minster, serving as assistant organist for most of that time. He earned a Bachelor of Music from New College, Oxford in 1879 and a Doctor of Music in 1895. His son, Alfred Bellerby, was an Olympic athlete. Bellerby wrote two hymn tunes, Lagos and Margate, along with several choral and orchestral works.
