The 1947 Penn Quakers football team represented the University of Pennsylvania as an independent in the 1947 college football season. Under head coach George Munger in his 10th year, the Quakers went 7–0–1, outscored opponents 219–35, and finished No. 7 in the final AP poll. Their only non-win was a 7–7 tie with Army. They used a single-wing offense and played home games at Franklin Field. Captains were Jerry McCarthy and Bill Luongo.

Three players from the 1947 team were later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame: center/linebacker Chuck Bednarik, tackle George Savitsky, and halfback Skip Minisi. Bednarik was a consensus first-team All-American and finished seventh in the 1947 Heisman Trophy voting. Munger coached Penn for 16 years and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1976.
