Saint Raymond of Peñafort Parish Church (Mangatarem)
Saint Raymond of Peñafort Parish Church, commonly known as Mangatarem Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, Philippines. It belongs to the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan and the Diocese of Alaminos.
The church began as a visita of San Carlos and became an independent parish in 1835; the Dominicans took charge in 1837. Father Joaquin Perez built a wooden church and brick convent from 1835 to 1844, but both were burned in 1862. The foundations of the present church were laid by Father Manuel Alvarez del Manzano and continued by Father Suarez until 1875. Father Vicente Iztequi finished the church and constructed the present convent from 1875 to 1886.
Mangatarem Church is designed in an Early Renaissance style with a simple facade and a low pediment, complemented by dentil-like bands, niches, windows, and a doorway that add visual interest. It remains an active parish church today.
