Doubs, Doubs
Doubs is a small town in eastern France. It is a commune in the Doubs department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, and lies on the Doubs river just north of Pontarlier. In 2023, about 3,335 people lived there. The town covers around 19 square kilometers and sits at an elevation between 795 and 1,052 meters.
Residents are called Doubsiens or Guerrats. The name Guerrats comes from a local legend about a long siege during the Guerre de Dix Ans, when rats were said to have swarmed the town.
The mayor for 2020–2026 is Georges Côte-Colisson.
