Donald Forbes (1935–12 April 2008) was a Scottish criminal known for murder and drug offences. He was once called Scotland’s most dangerous man. In 1958, after robbing a fish factory in Edinburgh, he killed night watchman Allan Fisher. He was sentenced to death, later reduced to life imprisonment, and released after 12 years. Weeks after his release, he killed again in a pub and was jailed again. About a year later he escaped from a maximum‑security wing but was soon recaptured.

In 1980 he married Alison Grierson. He spent 10 years in the Barlinnie special unit with other notorious inmates. He was released in 1998. In 2003, at age 68, he was arrested for preparing large quantities of cocaine and cannabis for sale, earning the label Scotland’s oldest drugs baron. He died in hospital on 12 April 2008, while still serving his sentence, with his son James by his side.
