Gradation (album)
Gradation is Shizuka Kudo's first compilation album, released on November 30, 1988 by Pony Canyon. It collects her five singles up to that point, their B-sides, and a new song, "X'mas ga Ippai." A gold CD re-release followed on March 21, 1989. The album debuted at number two on the Oricon chart, selling about 182,000 copies, and stayed in the top 20 for 14 weeks (nine in the top 10). It spent 21 weeks on the chart with total sales around 600,000, making it Kudo's best-selling album. Gradation ranked ninth on the 1989 year-end Oricon chart. All tracks were written and arranged by Tsugutoshi Gotō.
