Domenico Massenzio (28 March 1586 – 23 October 1657) was an Italian Baroque composer. His life spanned the era of the Counter-Reformation. He worked at important Roman religious institutions, including the Seminario Romano in 1612, the Collegio Inglese from 1624 to 1626, and the Cappella Giulia from 1626 to 1627. His first two music collections were Sacrae cantiones (1612) and Motecta liber secundus (1614), dedicated to Cardinal Odoardo Farnese and Cardinal Benedetto Giustiniani, respectively. Between 1629 and 1636 he published eight books of music. In 1631 he wrote the Sacri Motetti, pieces that could be sung by ordinary voices or by nuns. He even tried to export his music to Brazil with the Psalmi Davidici (1636). After 1646 he did not publish any more works until his death in 1657.
