27th National Council of Austria – simple overview

The 27th National Council is the lower house of Austria’s parliament. It was elected on 29 September 2019 and first met on 23 October 2019. The term ended when the council was dissolved before the 2024 elections.

Members and parties
- Total members: 183
- ÖVP (Austrian People’s Party): 71 seats
- SPÖ (Social Democrats): 40 seats
- FPÖ (Freedom Party): 31 seats initially
- Greens: 26 seats
- NEOS: 15 seats

In the first session on 23 October 2019, Philippa Strache was expelled from the FPÖ and sat as an independent. After that, the FPÖ group had 30 members.

- President: Wolfgang Sobotka (ÖVP)
- Second President: Doris Bures (SPÖ)
- Third President: Norbert Hofer (FPÖ)
