Dewey M. Johnson
Dewey Macon "Nick" Johnson (April 6, 1907 – December 12, 1986) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from Florida. He was born in Quincy, Florida, and earned a law degree from the University of Florida.
He served in the Florida House of Representatives in 1939, 1945, 1947, and 1949. He later served in the Florida State Senate, representing the 9th district from 1941 to 1943 and the 6th district from 1951 to 1967. In 1959 he was the President of the Florida Senate.
Johnson was a member of the Pork Chop Gang, a group of rural Florida legislators who controlled the state legislature and used McCarthy-era tactics.
He died in Gadsden County, Florida, on December 12, 1986. He was married to Margie Kimbrough, lived in Quincy, Florida, and worked as a lawyer. He was a Democrat.
