5454 aluminium alloy
5454 aluminium–magnesium alloy is a wrought aluminium–magnesium alloy in the 5xxx series, closely related to 5154. It offers moderate-to-high strength with excellent weldability, making it a common choice for welded structures such as pressure vessels and ships. Being a wrought alloy, it can be formed by rolling, extrusion, and forging (though forging is not common), but it is not produced by casting. Cold working can raise its strength but lowers its ductility. It is generally not clad. Alternate names include 3.3537, N51, and A95454. The alloy and its tempers are described in applicable standards.
