Deke Anderson
Deke Anderson, born Dee Christian Anderson on March 16, 1959, in Reno, Nevada, is an American actor, acting coach, and former bodybuilder. He left a Reno gym to pursue acting after a coworker, Kane Hodder, encouraged him. He began in entertainment as a singer with the Nevada Opera Guild before moving into film in the 1980s. His early movies include Hardbodies (1984) as a bodybuilder, American Drive-In (1985) as Denna’s Boyfriend, and Force of Darkness (1987) as a punk hoodlum.
On TV, Anderson appeared in Cheers (1988) as Randy, a male stripper. In 1989 he joined Days of Our Lives as Eddie Reed, a recurring role until the character was killed off. He also played the bandaged Duke Lavery on General Hospital, which sparked talk that he might continue the role. He starred in White Fury (1990) as Tyler Bennet and appeared in A Cry in the Wild, a TV adaptation of Hatchet.
In video games, he played Jason in Night Trap (1992). His other film work includes Felony (1994) as Dennis and co‑starring in Psychic Detectives (1996). He did voice work in Halo Legends (2010) as Spartan 1337 and played 4 Star General Caven in The Green Lantern (2011). He later voiced Igor in Legends of the Dark King: A Fist of the North Star Story (2016).
As a coach, Anderson and his wife opened Next Level Acting Studios in The Woodlands, Texas; a Woodlands location followed by 2008, and in 2001 he was named the No. 1 acting coach in Los Angeles. Later on‑screen credits include Dreamsville (2017) as Chief Brian Johnson, Osprey (2018) as Chief Stevens, The Resident (2018) as Paul Robinson, and Devious Maids as Rick Dresden.
