Bob Dylan, born in 1941 as Robert Allen Zimmerman, is an influential American singer-songwriter. He helped shape popular music and culture for more than five decades. In the 1960s his songs, such as Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They Are a-Changin', became anthems for civil rights and anti-war movements. His 1965 hit Like a Rolling Stone changed how people listened to rock and pop. In the mid-1960s he started making rock-leaning records, which were both praised and criticized by folk fans.

Dylan began the Never Ending Tour on June 7, 1988, and he has played about 100 shows a year for many years, especially through the 1990s and 2000s. By 2013 he and his band had performed more than 2,500 shows. The core members included bassist Tony Garnier, multi-instrumentalist Donnie Herron, and guitarist Charlie Sexton.

In 2016 Dylan did several notable live appearances. He headlined Ravinia Festival in Illinois and announced a summer US tour in support of his Fallen Angels album. He also performed at Desert Trip in California, sharing the bill with legends like The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. After Desert Trip, he and his band did a 27-date tour across the United States. That year he played 75 shows, which was the fewest since the Never Ending Tour began in 1988.

In 2017 he played at the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware and announced more summer shows in the US and Canada, including the first concerts at The Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, New York and at Edmonton's Rogers Place.

In 2019 he announced a 26-date North American tour, mostly at colleges and universities, and a 10-date residency at New York City's Beacon Theatre from November 23 to December 6.

These tours are part of his Rough and Rowdy Ways World Wide Tour.
