Dasymutilla magnifica
Dasymutilla magnifica, the magnificent velvet ant, is a velvet ant species found in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts, the mountains of Arizona, and the Great Basin region of North America. It can be hard to identify in the field because it looks very similar in size and color to Dasymutilla klugii, and their ranges overlap.
