Villains (EP)
Villains is the ninth Korean EP by Dreamcatcher. It was released on November 22, 2023, by Dreamcatcher Company and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. The EP has five tracks, including the lead single "OOTD," and was issued in twelve physical versions (1 limited, 4 regular, and 7 POCA). It begins the Versus duology, with its sequel Virtuous released in July 2024. Promotion included an early alternate reality game starting in October 2023 before the release.
The title track "OOTD" leans into pop-punk rather than the group’s usual rock sound. The name comes from "outfit of the day," and the lyrics describe being confidently destructive and extraordinary. Villains runs 13 minutes and 49 seconds, with Korean and English lyrics. It sold over 117,000 copies in its first month and debuted at No. 3 on the Circle Weekly Album Chart. The music video has about 26 million views on YouTube, and the EP has over 13 million Spotify streams as of December 2024. The project was produced by Ollounder, Door Maddox, Oliv, and Peperoni, under the Dreamcatcher Company label, fitting between Apocalypse: From Us (2023) and Virtuous (2024) in Dreamcatcher’s release timeline.
