Claudio Fasoli (born 29 November 1939) is an Italian jazz saxophonist and composer who plays tenor and soprano sax. He is known for modern, adventurous jazz.

In 2017 he published a book called Inner sounds. In the orbit of jazz and free music, through Agenzia X. It has forewords by Massimo Donà, Carlo Boccadoro, and Franco Caroni, plus many other contributions; a second expanded edition appeared in 2020.

In 2010 Fasoli created the project Inner Sound Of Seven Hours for a quartet with voice, inspired by fragments from Auden’s Horæ Canonicæ.

Renowned American critic Nat Hentoff praised Fasoli for the clarity and individuality of his playing and for his strong, expressive composing, noting that he speaks with his horns and leaves room for breath and meaning in his lines.

In 2018 Musica Jazz magazine named him Musician of the Year.

A portrait of Fasoli appears in the film Voices, and in 2018 the documentary Claudio Fasoli's Innersounds (by Angelo Poli and Carlodavid Mauri) features his creative process, with Fasoli's music. The film won several international awards.

In January 2022 Musica Jazz named the album Next (Abeat Records) the best CD of 2021.

After Perigeo disbanded in 1978, Fasoli led his own groups—mostly trios and quartets—with many notable players. He has performed across Italy, Europe, and the Americas, in concerts and festivals around the world.
