Chrysopetalidae is a family of polychaete worms (marine segmented annelids). They can have short or long bodies made of many segments. On the back of each segment there is a fan or a row of paleae. The head region has tentacles and eyes, and the front (buccal) segment carries two or four tentacular cirri on each side. Each segment has a pair of parapodia (limbs) that can be single- or double-branched and carry dorsal cirri. The ventral bristles are compound. There are three subfamilies: Calamyzinae, Chrysopetalinae, and Dysponetinae. Within these subfamilies there are various genera, while some genera have not been assigned to a subfamily.
