Forever Still is a Danish modern rock and metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 2013 by Maja Shining and Mikkel Haastrup. The duo self-produced much of their early work, releasing two EPs: Breaking Free in 2013 and Scars in 2014. In 2015 they put out the EP Save Me and started touring in the United Kingdom and Italy.

Their first album, Tied Down, was recorded with Flemming Rasmussen (a former Metallica producer). After its release, they signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast in August 2016. Tied Down was re-released and earned a Metal Hammer Award nomination for Best Debut Album, boosting their growing popularity. They toured Europe with Lacuna Coil in 2016 and with Children of Bodom in 2017, and opened the main stage at Bloodstock Open Air. They’ve played many major festivals across Europe, including Sabaton Open Air and Summer Breeze Open Air.

In 2019 Forever Still released their second album, Breathe in Colours, through Nuclear Blast, and toured Europe with Cellar Darling and Beyond the Black. In winter 2019 they joined the Female Metal Voices Tour with Leaves’ Eyes and Sirenia among others.

The band is currently finishing their third album, The Line, which was written during lockdown. Songwriters Maja and Mikkel gathered equipment at home and started creating a more minimalist sound using old drum machines and analog synthesizers, inspired by Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, and The Cure.

Current members: Maja Shining, Mikkel Haastrup, Inuuteq Kleemann, Viktor Enebjörn.
