Christina Scheppelmann (born 1965 in Germany) is a German arts administrator. After earning a banking degree, she began working in artist management in Milan in 1988. In 1994 she joined the San Francisco Opera, overseeing season design and staffing, and later spent 11 years as director of artistic operations at the Washington National Opera. She was the first general director of the Royal Opera House Muscat (2012–2015) and then led the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. In March 2019, Seattle Opera named her general director, making her the first woman in the post; she guided the company through the COVID-19 pandemic, including a filmed virtual season. Seattle Opera announced she would step down after the 2023–2024 season. At the same time, La Monnaie in Brussels named her general director and artistic director, with a start date moved from July 2025 to January 2025, for a six-year term. In private life, she and her spouse Beth were married by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
