Fontet is a small commune in southwestern France, in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It lies between Bordeaux and Bergerac, in the Langon arrondissement and the Le Réolais et Les Bastides canton, and is part of the Réolais en Sud Gironde intercommunality. The town covers 17.67 square kilometers and had 746 residents in 2023, with a population density of about 97 people per square kilometer. The elevation ranges from 5 to 63 meters above sea level, averaging around 50 meters. The current mayor for 2020–2026 is Serge Poujardieu. Fontet’s postal code is 33170. The commune is known in Occitan as Hontet.
