Charles Berling, born 30 April 1958 in Saint-Mandé, France, is a French actor, film director and screenwriter. Active since 1981, he is the son of a navy doctor and the nephew of literary critic Raymond Picard. His mother, Nadia, was the daughter of French settlers in Morocco; she was born in Meknes and died in 2004. As a child he moved from Paris to Brest, Toulon and then Tahiti. He studied acting at INSAS in Brussels and is the father of actor Émile Berling. In October 2025, he joined the cast of Nicole Garcia's upcoming film Milo.
