Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball
Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball represents Binghamton University in Vestal, New York. They play in the America East Conference at the Binghamton University Events Center, which seats about 5,322. The team colors are dark green, white, and black, and they are nicknamed the Bearcats. The head coach for the 2025–26 season is Levell Sanders, in his fifth year with the program.
A quick history: Binghamton moved from Division III to Division II before joining Division I in 2001, and has competed in the America East Conference since then. The program has one NCAA tournament appearance, in 2009, after winning both the regular-season title and the conference tournament. They lost to Duke in the first round.
After 2009, the team faced major issues. Several players were dismissed, head coach Kevin Broadus was suspended, and the team withdrew from the 2010 America East tournament following an SUNY audit criticizing the previous administration. Since then, the Bearcats have struggled, including a 2–29 season in 2011–12, and they have not posted a winning season. Their combined NCAA tournament record remains 0–1.
