Alicia Catherine Mant (15 July 1788 – 26 February 1869) was a British writer of children’s stories with strong moral themes. Born in Southampton, she was the daughter of Rev. Richard Mant and Elizabeth Roe Mant and the youngest of nine children. Her brother Richard Mant later became a bishop in Ireland.

Mant wrote several novels and at least one game before marrying Rev. James Russell Phillott in 1835; he was fourteen years younger than she was. They lived in Ballymoney, County Antrim, where they are buried. Mant died there in 1869 aged 80. Her works are still found in collections of children’s stories.
