Chain of Lakes Trail is a paved 7.25 km (4.5 miles) multi-use path in Halifax, Nova Scotia, running from Beechville to Fairview along the Chain Lakes. It’s part of the Rum Runners trail system and Nova Scotia’s Blue Route for cycling.

The trail is used for walking, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and is accessible for wheelchairs. Its highest point is around Bayers Lake at 110 m, and the lowest is in Fairview at about 23 m. The surface is asphalt, and the trail is open year-round. Sights include Bayer’s Lake and Mystery Walls.

Western trailhead: Lakeside Park Drive in Beechville, where it links with the Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea Trail. The route passes through Bayers Lake Business Park, under Highway 103, along the north shores of the Chain Lakes, through Fairmount, under Highway 102, and ends in Fairview.

The trail follows a former rail line built in 1904 for the Halifax and South Western Railway. Passenger service ended in 1969, most tracks were removed by 2010, and a tunnel was built under the trail in 2012–2014 to redirect sewage, completed in 2014.
