Carmen Ejogo
Carmen Elizabeth Ejogo (born 22 October 1973) is a British actress and singer. She was born in Kensington, London, to a Scottish mother and Nigerian father, and grew up in London. She started her career hosting Saturday Disney (1993–1995) and has since acted in many films and TV series. Her film credits include Metro (1997), Love's Labour's Lost (2000), The Purge: Anarchy (2014), Selma (2014) as Coretta Scott King, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and its sequels as Seraphina Picquery, It Comes at Night (2017), Alien: Covenant (2017) and Sparkle (2012). On television, she has starred in Kidnapped, Zero Hour, True Detective, Self Made and Your Honor, among others, and also appears in the Amazon series I’m a Virgo. She has two children, Elijah (born 2001) and Juno (born 2004), with ex-husband Jeffrey Wright, who she was married to from 2000 to 2014. Earlier, she was briefly married to musician Tricky in 1998. She played Coretta Scott King in Boycott (2001) and Selma (2014), and met King during preparation for Boycott, receiving her blessing for the role. In addition to acting, Ejogo has pursued music, singing on the Sparkle soundtrack and collaborating with artists such as Alex Reece and Tricky.
