Queen of the Sea (Kraljica mora) is a training tall ship used in Croatia to educate students. Built in 2009, it was the first Croatian training ship since independence. The government funded the project after 2007, and engineers from the Croatian Shipbuilding Institute designed it in Zagreb. Construction took place at the Montmontaža - Greben shipyard in Vela Luka, and the ship was launched on November 13, 2009. Management was given to a private company, Adriatic Sea Service, and since 2013 it has been operated by Jadrolinija, the state ferry company. The vessel is a two-masted motor-sailing ship, about 35 meters long, 8.55 meters wide, with a 2.65 meter draft. It can carry 28 students, 4 teachers, and 7 crew. It can sail at about 6 knots or travel under motor at about 11 knots. Its home port is Rijeka, and it has identifiers IMO 9569358, MMSI 238261000, and callsign 9AA6962. The launch cost was about 37 million HRK, and in 2016 it was valued at 37 million kunas (about $5.5 million).
