During the Second Intifada, on November 1, 2004, a Palestinian suicide bomber exploded at the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv, Israel. The blast killed three Israeli civilians and injured more than 50 people. The attacker wore a belt with about 5 kilograms of explosives. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility, saying the bomber was Amar Alfar, a 16-year-old from Nablus in the West Bank.
