Football history
Ironton’s football program has a long tradition. Before 2012, head coach Bob Lutz won 381 games and led the team to state championships in 1979 and 1989. Under Trevon Pendleton, the team reached the state championship game in 2019, 2020, and 2022 but did not win those years. In 2024, Ironton won the state championship, giving the Fighting Tigers their third title.
