Carassauga
Carassauga is a yearly multicultural festival in Mississauga, Ontario. It lasts three days each May. Started in 1985, it is run by a volunteer, non-profit organization and was created after a challenge from former Mayor Hazel McCallion. Carassauga celebrates the city’s diverse ethnic communities through cultural pavilions located in Mississauga’s cultural and recreation centres. Each pavilion represents a different culture with food, art, historical displays, and vendors. Performances include dance, music, singing, fashion shows, and plays. The pavilions also offer dance lessons, arts and crafts, and cooking demos.
