Bulgaria in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Bulgaria has taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest seven times. The national broadcaster is Bulgarian National Television (BNT).
Their first entry was in 2007 with Bon-Bon performing Bonbolandiya, finishing 7th with 86 points. Bulgaria did not participate in 2009, 2010, 2012 or 2013, then returned in 2011. In 2014 Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim performed Planet of the Children and finished in 2nd place with 147 points, Bulgaria’s best Junior Eurovision result. Because of this success, Bulgaria hosted the 2015 contest in Sofia at Arena Armeec.
In 2016, Lidia Ganeva sang Magical Day and finished 9th with 161 points. Bulgaria planned to participate in 2017 but withdrew due to broadcaster restructuring. The country came back in 2021 with Denislava and Martin performing Voice of Love, finishing 16th, and then withdrew again from 2022 for unknown reasons.
Summary: seven appearances, best result 2nd place in 2014, and hosting duties in 2015.
