William Brennan (baseball)
William Raymond Brennan (born January 15, 1963) is a former American baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988 and the Chicago Cubs in 1993. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended Bellevue and Hillwood High Schools and played college baseball at Mercer University. Brennan signed with the Dodgers as an undrafted free agent on September 1, 1984.
He spent years in the minor leagues with teams such as the Vero Beach Dodgers, San Antonio Dodgers, and Albuquerque Dukes before his MLB debut on July 19, 1988, as a starter against the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1988 he appeared in four games for the Dodgers, including two starts. After continuing his career in the minors with various organizations, he returned to the majors with the Cubs in 1993, appearing in eight games (one start). His MLB career totals include a 2–2 win–loss record, a 5.18 ERA, and 18 strikeouts. Brennan finished his professional baseball career after the 1994 season in the minor leagues.
