Italian ship Argo (MEN209)
Argo (MEN209) is a presidential yacht of the Italian Navy, based in La Spezia. Built by Italcraft Gaeta (Latina), it was laid down on 15 April 1971, launched on 20 October 1971, and commissioned on 3 January 1972. The motto is Alacre sopra le onde, and it is classified as a Nave servizi vari, or utility vessel. Argo displaces about 64.5 tons, is 24.36 meters long, 5.5 meters wide, and has a draft of 1.93 meters. It is powered by two diesel engines (each about 990 kW) driving two shafts, giving a top speed of around 25 knots and a range of 500 nautical miles. The crew consists of seven people (one officer and six sailors), and it carries a navigation radar. The home port is La Spezia. Argo was previously known as MEN209.
