Brad Tinsley
Brad Glen Tinsley (born May 10, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Vanderbilt from 2008 to 2012, where he became the first Commodore to record a triple-double and finished his four-year college career with solid all-around numbers.
In high school, Tinsley starred at Oregon City, earning Oregon Player of the Year honors and Gatorade Player of the Year in the state. He helped his team reach the state final in 2008 and was highly regarded as a top-100 prospect.
Tinsley went undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft. He then played professionally abroad, mostly in Europe and also in Australia. His career included stints with EiffelTowers Den Bosch (Netherlands), Okapi Aalstar (Belgium), Saint-Vallier Basket Drôme (France), Lakeside Lightning (Australia), MLP Academics Heidelberg (Germany), FC Porto (Portugal), Vytautas Prienai-Birštonas (Lithuania), BV Chemnitz (Germany), and Casale (Italy). He briefly played in multiple leagues and became best known for his time in Portugal.
While with Lakeside Lightning in Australia, he scored a remarkable 56 points in a playoff game during the 2014 season. He later returned to FC Porto and continued to play there through 2022.
Tinsley’s professional success largely came in Portugal, where he helped Porto win the Portuguese League title in 2016, the Portuguese Cup in 2019, and the Portuguese League Cup in 2016 and 2021, along with two Portuguese Supercups (2016 and 2019).
Personal life: Tinsley’s wife, Margaret, played college basketball at UC Santa Barbara.
