United Socialists (Italy)
United Socialists – PSI (Socialisti Uniti – PSI) was a small social-democratic party in Italy. It existed from 2009 to 2011 and was led by Bobo Craxi and Saverio Zavettieri. The party formed in Rome on 10 October 2009 from the merger of The Italian Socialists, Craxi’s faction of the Socialist Party, and possibly other figures from the old Italian Socialist Party. Craxi had previously left the Socialist Party because he disagreed with its plan to merge into Left Ecology Freedom (SEL). In November, the Socialist Party decided not to merge with SEL, and Craxi renewed his membership in the party. In 2011, United Socialists merged into the Italian Reformists.
