Block Z is a 2020 Filipino action-horror film directed by Mikhail Red. It stars Joshua Garcia, Julia Barretto, Dimples Romana, Yves Flores, Myrtle Sarrosa, Maris Racal, McCoy de Leon, Ian Veneracion, and Ina Raymundo. The story follows PJ, a medical student at San Lazaro University, and her friends as a deadly zombie outbreak spreads through the campus and city after a hospital bite. As the military quarantines the school, the group faces danger, betrayal, and loss while trying to survive. A helicopter evacuation can only carry two people, forcing tough choices. PJ and her father Mario discover they are immune to the virus and escape through an underground tunnel beneath a church. They learn water can kill zombies and a typhoon helps weaken the undead. Two weeks later, survivors find Lucas alive. The film runs 103 minutes and was released in the Philippines on January 29, 2020.
