Blair Buswell (born 1956) is an American sculptor known for sports statues. He grew up in North Ogden, Utah, studied art at Ricks College, then moved to Brigham Young University on an art scholarship, where he also played running back for the Cougars. He graduated in 1982 and turned his love of art and sports into sculpture.
Buswell has carved nearly 100 Pro Football Hall of Fame busts, including every new inductee since 1983, such as Steve Young, John Madden, Pat Bowlen and Randy Moss. He also created the NFL Special Service Award medals for Super Bowls XIX–XXI. His other works include a Jack Nicklaus statue for the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and an Oscar Robertson statue for the University of Cincinnati. He sculpted the Doak Walker Award trophy for the top college running back, and busts for Charlton Heston, Harold B. Lee, Thomas S. Monson, Robert Neyland, W.A. Criswell and San Carlos Borromeo.
A bronze statue of John Wooden was unveiled at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in 2012, with Buswell helping on the project. He lives in Alpine, Utah, and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
