Bill Thiebaut
Bill Thiebaut is an American attorney and politician from Pueblo, Colorado. A Democrat, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1987 to 1993 and in the Colorado Senate from 1993 to 2003, where he was the majority leader from 2001 to 2002. In 2002 he ran for lieutenant governor with Rollie Heath, but they were defeated by Bill Owens and Jane Norton. After leaving the legislature, he was elected district attorney for Colorado's 10th Judicial District (Pueblo County) and served from 2005 to 2013. In 2023, he was elected to an at-large seat on the Pueblo School District 60 board for a four-year term; his voter registration at that time was independent. Earlier in his career, he served as Pueblo County public trustee from 1979 to 1986. Since leaving the DA's office, he has served on various committees, including chairing the State Transportation Commission. He was born in 1947 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and grew up in Pueblo after moving there as a child. He finished high school in Canon City, Colorado, is married to Mary Ann, and they have 15 children.
