Simon Bryant (chef)
Simon Bryant (born 14 February 1965) is an Australian chef born in Exeter, England.
He is best known for his work with Maggie Beer on the ABC TV show The Cook and the Chef, which ran for more than 150 episodes over four years and drew more than 600,000 viewers per week.
Bryant spent more than 10 years at Hilton Adelaide. He started as a Commis Chef, then became Chef de Partie in The Grange with Cheong Liew, and soon rose to Senior Sous Chef of The Brasserie. His big break came when he was promoted to Executive Chef, overseeing 33 staff, two of the state's leading restaurants, a quick-service deli, and the hotel's catering and room-service operations—the largest in South Australia.
Awards include the 2007 Hotel Management Magazine Awards for Excellence – Executive Chef of the Year and the 2008 Restaurant and Catering Association (SA) Chef of the Year.
