Alexandre Obolensky (1952–2018) was a Belgian painter, scenic designer and exhibition designer. He was born in Brussels and graduated from the Institut Saint-Luc in 1970. He started at La Monnaie as a set painter in 1978 and became an independent artist and designer in 1982. As a freelancer he worked for theatres, ballets and operas in several countries, including Paris’s Théâtre du Rond-Point. With François Schuiten he created murals such as La Tour Infinie in Louvain-la-Neuve (2010). They also worked on Expo 2000 in Hanover and Expo 2005 in Aichi, and designed the Train World exhibition space in Schaarbeek.
