Biete Gabriel-Rufael is an underground rock-cut church in Lalibela, Ethiopia. It was built during the Kingdom of Axum and is part of the Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name means “House of the angels Gabriel and Raphael.” Some historians think it may have been a royal palace and it is linked to a holy bakery.
