Bestseller (film)
Bestseller is a 2010 South Korean mystery thriller directed by Lee Jeong-ho. It stars Uhm Jung-hwa as Baek Hee-soo, a bestselling author for twenty years, and Ryu Seung-ryong. After she is accused of plagiarizing a competition entry she judged, Hee-soo goes with her daughter Yeon-hee to a remote country house to write. Yeon-hee says an invisible woman in the house tells her stories, which Hee-soo turns into a new book. The book becomes a bestseller, but Hee-soo is soon involved in another plagiarism scandal, with rumors that its contents copy a novel published ten years earlier. To prove her innocence, she investigates the truth and who her daughter was talking to.
The film opened on April 15, 2010. It runs 117 minutes, is in Korean, and had a budget of about $3.6 million. It grossed around $7.3 million at the box office. Production companies include EchoFilm, Daisy Entertainment, and Cinergy, and it was distributed by Showbox.
