2016 Yas Marina GP2 Series round
The 2016 Yas Marina GP2 round was the final event of the GP2 Series that year. It took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on 26 and 27 November 2016, as part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. This was the last GP2 round before the series was renamed FIA Formula 2 in 2017. It was also meant to be the last season for the Dallara GP2/11 chassis and the Mecachrome 4.0 L V8 engine, but they were kept for one more year.

- Pole position for the feature race: Pierre Gasly (Prema Racing) with a time of 1:47.476.
- Feature race (31 laps) on 26 November: Winner – Pierre Gasly; second – Nobuharu Matsushita; third – Artem Markelov. Fastest lap – Matsushita, 1:51.175 on lap 28.
- Sprint race (22 laps) on 27 November: Winner – Alex Lynn; second – Johnny Cecotto Jr.; third – Sergey Sirotkin. Fastest lap – Sirotkin, 1:52.863 on lap 14.
Results tie-ins:
- Gasly’s pole position helped his bid to win the 2016 GP2 Series, with Antonio Giovinazzi qualifying in sixth.
- Driver changes for Abu Dhabi: Carlin replaced Marvin Kirchhöfer with Louis Delétraz; Arden International replaced Jimmy Eriksson with Emil Bernstorff.
