The Battle of Taze is an ongoing fight that began on April 7, 2021, in Taze Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar, and it is still happening.
The fighting is between the Myanmar military government and various anti-military groups. The government side includes the State Administration Council, the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army), and the Myanmar Police Force. The opposition includes Pyusawhti militias, the National Unity Government, the People’s Defence Force, the Taze Township People’s Defence Forces, the Civil Disobedience Movement, and armed civilians.
Strength on both sides is unknown.
Casualties reported include at least 8 people killed or wounded; more than 11 people have been killed overall (including civilians), with many others wounded.
