Brinsley Schwarz is the debut studio album by the pub rock band Brinsley Schwarz, released on 17 April 1970. It was recorded in early 1970 at Olympic Studios in London and runs about 39 minutes. The album was released by Capitol in the United States and by United Artists in the United Kingdom. The band produced it with Dave Robinson. It came after the group changed its name from Kippington Lodge and after the poorly received Brinsley Schwarz Hype. Critics describe the music as a simple blend of Crosby, Stills & Nash, Dylan & the Band, with a dash of early Yes. The cover art was designed by Barney Bubbles for Teenburger Designs. The original vinyl was later reissued on CD in 1996. All songs were written by Nick Lowe unless noted.
