Anton Thorkildsen Omholt
Anton Thorkildsen Omholt (7 November 1861 – 11 February 1925) was a Norwegian Liberal politician and civil servant. Born in Kongsberg, he studied law (cand.jur., 1892) and worked as a journalist, including a stint as editor of the Dagbladet newspaper.
Omholt served as County Governor of Nordland from 1908 to 1913. In 1913, Prime Minister Gunnar Knudsen appointed him Minister of Finance, a position he held until 1920. During his time as finance minister he took two leaves: from 23 April to 16 July 1915, and starting 12 December 1919, leading to his resignation on 16 June 1920. After leaving politics, he lived a private life. He died in Oslo in 1925 at the age of 63.
