Changeling is a song by English singer Alison Moyet, released as the third single from her eighth studio album, The Minutes (2013). The track, written by Moyet and Guy Sigsworth and produced by Sigsworth and Moyet, blends electronic rock, electronica, and dubstep. It lasts 2 minutes 57 seconds and was released by Cooking Vinyl on October 14, 2013.

In February 2013 Moyet offered Changeling as a free digital download on her official site to give fans a sneak peek of the upcoming album. The song was briefly considered as a possible album title, but the idea was dropped after Toyah Willcox released an album titled The Changeling.

Critics noted Moyet’s powerful voice within the bold electronic sound. Contactmusic.com praised her vocal performance and dramatic style; Digital Spy highlighted how well her voice suits the electronic vibe; AllMusic pointed to dubstep breakdowns; Record Collector mentioned the breakbeats; PopMatters called out the sharp synth line; and musicOMH compared the track to late-1990s Madonna with R&B and synth-pop influences, though some critics felt the production was overdone and Moyet’s voice sounded slightly robotic.

A lyric video appeared ahead of The Minutes in February 2013. A full music video, directed by Cat Botibol, was released on September 29, 2013. The video conveys a sense of displacement, with Moyet singing beneath city streets in the vaults under Waterloo station, while crowds are projected around her; choreographer Ann Pidcock helped craft angular movements, with visuals inspired by David Lynch’s Eraserhead.

Changeling sits within The Minutes, following the single Love Reign Supreme (2013) and preceding Reassuring Pinches (2017).
