Yoav Har-Even

Yoav Har-Even is a retired Israeli major general and former CEO of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, a role he held from 2015 to 2024. Before joining Rafael, he led the Israel Defense Forces Operations Directorate and, earlier, commanded the 319th Division and the General Staff’s Army Headquarters.

Har-Even began his career in the IDF Artillery Corps and held many key posts: commander of the Pillar of Fire Artillery Formation’s 55th Battalion, commander of the Artillery Corps Officers School, head of the Chief of Staff Office, commander of the reserve 973rd Eged Artillery Battalion, commander of the Pillar of Fire Artillery Formation, and commander of the HaMapatz Armored Corps Formation. He also taught company and battalion commanders and later led the Manpower Directorate Planning Division and the GOC Army Headquarters. He was promoted to major general in 2012 and then led the IDF’s Operations Directorate. Har-Even is the son of Aby Har-Even, a former director general of the Israel Space Agency. He is married with three children and holds a BA in economics and political science and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
